Making money on the internet can be made very simple for anyone.
Making money as an internet marketer boils down to this: Making product sales to people to whom you sent an email.
Why is it that so many aspiring marketers are failing with their internet businesses and websites?
There are a number of reasons for this and they are all remedied by simple marketing methods which every internet business person should be practicing.
The way sites are being designed is one very big reason that online businesses are failing. Amateur copywriters and newbies don’t achieve very good conversions with the traffic that is hitting their sites. These site owners are attempting to elicit direct sales from product recommendations, banners displayed, and reviews.
First of all, the banners are taking up precious space on your web page that could be put to better use. Besides, most people have become banner-blind by now.
Secondly, by changing the ads on your sites every so often you can fight this banner blindness. You can also test to see what is getting more clicks or converting better.
Another reason for a lot of failed websites is the lack of a name capture mechanism used for list building purposes. If your sites are getting traffic but people are banner blind, don’t you think that you should be building your list? instead you are just hoping to make sales from the same old banner?
If you use the traffic to your sites to build your list and make sales at the same time, you can and will make money from those sites. You can do both, but your highest converting offers won’t come from first-time visitors who come to your site and see some banners.
Your highest converting traffic will come from the emails you send to the subscriber list you built. Those people on your list who take your product recommendations and emails seriously will trust you and they’re more likely to buy what you recommend than the firstt-time visitor who doesn’t trust you (yet).
I have seen time and again when people on marketing forums tell me that they aren’t making any sales.
I would review their web pages and they weren’t all that good, then I’d ask them how they were promoting their product. The answer, nearly always, was through traffic exchanges and forum links.
So I encourage these people to create a simple squeeze page and a newsletter with 7 – 8 emails. These should emphasize the value of obtaining the product, and that the sales always start coming in once they divert their attention to list building instead of direct sales.
If you’re not building a list, that is one of the biggest internet marketing mistakes you could be making and I suggest that you change your focus a little to see how powerful this change in attitude will be for you.
When you see how well this works, you should work to automate you list building so that you can have your very own automated profit system.
